Inclusive Practice Solutions

Inclusion is a threshold,
not a tick-box

Reduce risk. Strengthen leadership. Make inclusion measurable.

Because behind every policy is a person — a learner, an employee, a family — who deserves better than good intentions.

Strategic inclusion consultancy for councils, employers, and education providers — turning good intentions into genuine, measurable change for the people who need it most.

Two ways in

Who we work with

One practice, two areas of deep expertise — held to the same standard of evidence.

i.

Employers & Councils

Fewer grievances. Fewer tribunals. Better retention. We equip managers to lead restructures transparently, support neurodiverse colleagues confidently, and meet statutory duties — with outcomes measured against your own baseline.

ii.

Education Providers

Confident staff. Stronger provision. Every child able to achieve, belong, and thrive. We build the knowledge and skills your whole workforce needs to support every learner — especially those who find learning hardest.

Employers & Councils

Workplace programmes that create real change

From restructures to GDPR, neuroinclusion to grievance prevention — all measured against your own baseline.

Specialist focus

We have particular expertise with local authorities and councils — navigating the unique challenges of public sector restructures, statutory GDPR obligations, and complex workforce diversity.

Councils & Employers

Managing Restructures — For Managers

Managers leave with the skills, language, and confidence to lead restructures without generating grievances. Covers transparent communication, managing uncertainty, and the specific behaviours that trigger tribunal claims.

Through the Restructure — For Staff

Staff who feel heard during change don’t raise grievances. This programme builds psychological safety, teaches effective consultation, and reduces the resentment that drives formal complaints.

GDPR & Data Protection in Practice

Staff leave knowing exactly how data protection applies to their daily decisions — reducing breach risk, protecting the organisation, and evidencing proactive compliance to the ICO.

Neurodiversity, Accessibility & Grievance Prevention

Equip managers to confidently support the colleague who’s struggling in silence, make lawful reasonable adjustments, and create teams where neurodivergent employees can thrive — reducing Equality Act risk by getting the human response right first.

Worker Protection Act Compliance

Identify compliance gaps before an incident forces you to. We review your policy and practice against WPA duties and deliver targeted support so you can evidence a proactive approach — not a reactive one.

Inclusion Culture Audit

A structured diagnostic that tells leadership exactly where inclusion is working, where it isn’t, and what to do about it — giving your workforce a voice and your board the evidence to act on what they hear.

Why organisations choose IPS

Most providers deliver awareness sessions.
We change how organisations actually work.

We believe inclusion should never be an afterthought. It should be embedded into how organisations lead, recruit, develop, and retain their people. That’s why we focus on systems, leadership practice, and culture change — not just training days.

Strategic

Senior SEND and inclusion leadership across further education, local government, and complex multi-agency environments. We advise at board level, not just the training room.

Measured

Every engagement starts with a baseline and ends with evidence. Your leadership team gets data they can present to governors, boards, and scrutiny committees — not just certificates.

Practical

Managers leave with tools they can use on Monday morning. Staff gain confidence, not just awareness. We focus on what people actually do differently afterwards.

Person-centred

Every strategy, every programme, every recommendation starts with the same question: what does this mean for the person at the centre? The learner who isn’t coping. The employee who hasn’t disclosed. The parent who’s lost trust. That’s who we work for.

Our methodology

Our process: how we work with you

We make engaging our services straightforward. Every engagement follows the same disciplined process — so outcomes are demonstrated, not assumed.

i

Discovery & baseline

We understand your organisation, your priorities, and your data — outcomes, grievance rates, absence, staff confidence. This creates the benchmark everything is measured against.

ii

Assessment & design

We identify strengths, risks, and opportunities, then design a programme shaped around your context — not an off-the-shelf package.

iii

Delivery & implementation

Consultancy, training, and implementation in your setting — a sustained engagement that changes practice, not a one-day event.

iv

Review & impact

We return at 3 and 6 months to measure impact against baseline. Your leadership team receives an outcomes report suitable for governance and continuous improvement.

Your consultant

Led by someone who’s done the work, not just studied it

Britanny Barnes is the Founder and Director of Inclusive Practice Solutions, bringing over a decade of senior leadership experience across SEND, inclusion, organisational improvement, and strategic consultancy.

She has led inclusive practice across further education, local authorities, and complex multi-agency environments — managing high-risk cases, leading restructures, implementing reasonable adjustments at scale, and helping organisations translate inclusion from policy into measurable outcomes.

Her expertise spans neuroinclusion, disability confidence, equality and governance compliance, quality improvement, and employment risk reduction. She works with organisations that want strategic, evidence-based change — not awareness sessions that disappear into the noise.

“People don’t hire me for a training day. They hire me because their current approach isn’t working, and they need someone who’s been in their shoes to help them fix it.”

“I started this work because I’ve sat across the table from families who’ve been failed by systems that meant well but didn’t follow through. That’s what drives everything we do — making sure inclusion isn’t just a promise, it’s what people actually experience.”

Why it matters

The cost of getting inclusion wrong

Inclusion is not only the right thing to do — its absence is a measurable business and compliance risk.

£50k+

Average cost of a single disability discrimination claim — before management time and reputational impact.

1 in 5

UK employees are disabled — and most workplace adjustments cost little or nothing to implement.

Managers

Line managers are the single biggest factor in whether inclusion works in practice — not policy.
